Truth For The World needs your help. Teaching All Nations How to Worship Satan Effectively The lights have been darkened; only the flickering lights of black candles are burning around the stone altar. Upon the altar lies an unclothed woman waiting to be violated by the high priest of the church. However, she will not call it a violation, because she is a willing participant. As the people move in closer and closer to the altar, the high priest enters from a curtain in the back. He disrobes himself, and begins staring at the woman on the altar. The high priest holds a chalice of blood or urine, which was drawn from the woman on the altar; he then pours the liquid onto her belly. A bell is rung, inviting Satan to come into their midst. A large list of names is taken from the book of Leviathan and read aloud, names such as Abaddon, Beelzebub, Behemoth, and Amon. The priest stands holding a sword and begins to turn counterclockwise. Then toward each cardinal point on the compass he points with the sword and beckons forth the princes of Hell: Satan from the south, Lucifer from the east, Belial from the north, and Leviathan from the west; calling the great princes of darkness from the abyss of Hell. From there the events only get worse. In that ceremony, Satan is glorified, adored, and worshiped. In an effort to study briefly how to worship Satan effectively, we will notice three people in the Bible who chose to worship him. We will not be discussing, however, those who offered sacrifice to Baal, or those who sacrificed their own children on the burning altar to Molech. Neither will we discuss those who worshiped God in unauthorized ways and, in effect, worshiped Satan (e.g., Cain, Nadab, Abihu, et al.). Rather, I call your attention to three men the Lord described in a parable who would have fit in well at this sacrifice to Satan: Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many: And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready. And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused. And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused. And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come. So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind. And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room. And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper. (Luke 14:16–24) But what does this passage have to do with worshiping Satan? My aim is to convince all who read this article that this passage has everything to do with becoming a follower of the devil. Some years ago, on Halloween, I had the opportunity to sit in on an interview with Peter H. Gilmore on a media show for which I worked. If his name is not familiar to us, his predecessor’s name might be: Anton Szandor LaVey. LaVey was the founder and the original high priest of the Church of Satan, and the author of the Satanic Bible. Gilmore at the time was the high priest for the Church of Satan, the highest position in that wicked institution. During this interview, the host of the show tried to get Gilmore to make a sacrifice to Satan. He challenged Gilmore: Come on, we have an altar already set up, just go out there and let’s get a goat, and put it on the altar. Come on, we can draw a pentagram. It is Halloween man, this is Satan’s day; we should go out and worship him. The host repeated his challenge several times. After listening to this for awhile, Gilmore said something that I will never forget as long as I live: Man, if you want to worship Satan—if you really want to worship Satan—just do what you want to. Just do what you want to. His philosophy was that if you want to go to church, go—but go because you want to go. If you want to have sex with women, men, or whatever you desire, do it—but do it because you want to. If you want to go out drinking or do drugs, do it. But whatever you do, do it because you want to. And then he made this statement: When you live your life serving yourself, you are serving Satan. And so, if you want to worship Satan effectively, just do what you want. With his definition (and perhaps he is the authority on how one is to worship Satan), let us briefly look at the three men Jesus described, and note the way they qualified as worshipers of Satan. I suggest that these three men still exist, both in the world and in the Lord’s church. THE FIRST SATAN WORSHIPER The first man bought some land, and he needed to see it. In some people’s minds, this statement makes sense. Obviously, this man had some possessions, and there is nothing innately wrong with that. The problem was that he was driven by his possessions, much as the rich young ruler was (Mat. 19:16–21). So in effect, he said, “Sir, I would like to come to your feast, but I would rather spend my time with my possessions.” This statement is reminiscent of the man who had a great harvest which he selfishly hoarded, requiring the building of bigger barns just to store it (Luke 12:17–20). Jesus prefaced this parable with the warning: Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth (v. 15). This man worshiped Satan, did he not? But what about us? We must be willing to surrender all of our material goods if necessary in order to follow Jesus. Jesus said: No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. (Mat. 6:24). In the same context, He also said: Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. (vv. 19–21). We must realize that God desires our hearts. If we are not willing to give our money and our possessions to the Lord, how can we give him our hearts? And if we never give our hearts to the Lord, then truly we are still followers of the devil. THE SECOND SATAN WORSHIPER What about the second man? This man had bought some oxen, and he got caught up in his work. He needed to prove his oxen. Apparently he thought going to work was more important than attending the feast. Do we do that? Does our desire for material things get in the way of doing the Lord’s work? I once attended a congregation where there was a very faithful deacon—at least during the months of January through September. But from October through December, he could not be found at Wednesday night Bible study. Basketball was big in that town, and he was "the referee." He told us many times that his love for refereeing high school basketball (plus the extra money he earned thereby) would keep him from attending Bible study on Wednesday nights during those months. So, he chose to worship Satan on the basketball court three months each year. The church is in a sad condition when its leaders thus worship Satan. This deacon was just doing what he wanted to, as Satan’s high priest suggested. The prophet Amos described the way Israel wanted to go about their daily activities: Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit? That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; yea, and sell the refuse of the wheat? (Amos 8:5–6). Note their attitude: "If we can ever get these feast days and this sabbath observance over with, then we can finally go about our important business of cheating those who buy from us and robbing the poor." And that is exactly what Gilmore was saying: Just do what you want. THE THIRD SATAN WORSHIPER The third man put earthly relationships first, so he may have had the best excuse of the three. He had just married a wife, and he wanted to spend time with her. However, our Lord said: He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me (Mat. 10:37–38). Concerning the cost of being a disciple, Jesus said: If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple (Luke 14:26). Before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, He told Lot and his family not to look back to those cities as they fled them. But Lot’s wife turned around that one last time, apparently to look longingly on those wicked cities she had called home and her wicked children who refused to flee. The rest of the family then had to continue without her. Just do what you want, right? What about us? If it came down to it, would we do as Lot’s wife did? Would we really leave our loved ones behind if they stood in the way of our following our Lord? Jesus said: Remember Lot’s wife (Luke 17:32). This third man would not put the Lord before his wife. His excuse was unacceptable. Moses’ law exempted one from military service for a year if he married, but Jesus grants no such exemption. We cannot just do what we want to and be followers of Christ. So what must we do to serve God? What does Christ require of us? What must we offer up to God, in order to be true disciples of the Christ? The answer is: everything. Christ gave everything for us, so He expects us to do the same for Him. He is not asking us to do anything that He was unwilling to do Himself. The way we become His disciples is by losing our lives for His cause—His church. When Jesus challenged the disciples to follow Him at all costs, He emphasized the necessity of counting the cost by telling of a tower builder who was unable to finish his project, and a king who considered engaging an army of superior force (Luke 14:28–32). Then He stated: So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple  (v. 33). Christ says that, before one takes Him on, he had better count the cost, which He defines in verse 33 as all that he has. Paul wrote of that which faithfully following Christ requires: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to thisworld: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God (Rom. 12:1–2). Each of us, as God’s children, is to be a living sacrifice. Actually, each of us already is a living sacrifice. However, we must decide individually on which altar we are to be offered. Each one of us will worship one of two beings: God or Satan. If a person is not willing to give all to God, then by default he worships the devil. So whether they are lying prone upon a literal altar, awaiting the on-pouring of a Satanic ritual liquid, or they are going along in life just doing what they want to, in either case they are still worshiping Satan. As vile, disgusting, and repulsive as the opening scene of this article was, in the eyes of the Father the woman who offers herself on a satanic altar and a person who lives his life just doing what he wants to are equally worshipers of Satan. Jesus said: He that is not with me is against me  (Mat. 12:30). Probably needs to be preached in every congregation in the USA. Men want to be called "Christian" but do not follow the one they claim to be followers of and their Lord. Just started following some of your articles and blog and boy have I been missing out. Thanks for the message to the world and to the church.
